The "Maria Spitzer" Water Aerobics Club was founded in 2003 by Maria Spitzer in Sofia. Maria Spitzer is a longtime competitive synchronized swimmer, and after years of experience in the pool, she decided during her first pregnancy to share what she had learned and help many people regain their health, fitness and self-confidence. To show the right path in the battle against the pounds. To reveal to expectant mothers the benefits and joy of water activities.
Water aerobics (aqua aerobics) is a type of aerobics performed in a pool with a depth of 1 meter or more (it can be practiced both in shallow water where you can touch the bottom and in a deep pool). It consists of a set of exercises suitable for all ages and tailored to individual fitness levels. The workout lasts 60 minutes and uses special equipment that engages all muscle groups (noodles, balls, bars, weights).
Aqua aerobics is recommended for pregnant women, who can attend the sessions from the beginning to the end of their pregnancy, with a doctor’s approval.
The club organizes sports weekends and camps featuring twice-daily workouts of higher intensity, combined with spa treatments and a friendly atmosphere.
